It just occurred to me this morning -- June 27, 2008 -- that I've been at Bedford/St. Martin's for 8 years, the longest I've been at any one place of employment ever. So to mark the occasion, I thought I'd try a new blog. This one will offer random observations about textbook publishing, teaching and learning, technology and learning, e-learning, and other fun stuff from my perspective as a new media editor for Bedford/St. Martin's.

I study educational technology and its use in U.S. colleges; offer faculty development workshops on teaching and learning; with any technology, provide editorial, research, and writing services; give writing workshops to corporate and business clients. Prior to setting up my own consulting firm, I spent 17 years in college textbook publishing studying learning and building educational technology for writers. Prior to my publishing career, I directed college writing programs, writing centers, and writing across the curriculum programs.
